Tennessee driver awaits charges after striking man with car

A 20-year-old Tennessee man awaited his official charge on Oct. 22 after being detained without bond and accused of criminal homicide. The charge stems from an incident during the early morning of Oct. 18. Prosecutors say that the defendant was driving a 2005 Ford Mustang when he ran over another man along Magnolia Court. The driver is said to have fled the scene, parked in a bank's parking lot and returned to the scene of the accident.

Woman kills bicyclist in hit-and-run collision

Law enforcement officers report that a 53-year-old Clarksville woman was charged with vehicular homicide after allegedly killing a bicyclist in an early morning hit-and-run accident before fleeing the scene. The accident occurred around 12:15 am on Monday, Sept. 22 when the woman apparently rear-ended the man as he rode his bicycle on the shoulder of Tiny Town Road near the intersection of Needmore Road.

Trucking company faces federal lawsuit in fatal truck crash

On Aug. 10, a woman filed a claim in a Tennessee court against Yes Express, Inc./"The Blanket Company" and one of the truck company's drivers whom she says caused an auto accident that killed her 18-year-old daughter and injured two others. The truck driver, who was unhurt, may face criminal charges in the incident.

Multi-vehicle crash claims 1 life, injures another

Tennessee authorities report that an accident in Bartlett on Aug. 4 claimed the life of a female teenager who was a passenger in a truck. Media sources noted that the deceased teen was a former resident of the area and was visiting from Houston, Texas.

1 dead, 1 injured in Tennessee crash

A collision between a passenger vehicle and a motorcycle left one dead and one injured in Greenville on July 26. The driver of the passenger vehicle was arrested after the fatal accident, and she told police that she had not seen the motorcycle as she pulled into the road.

Deputy recruit allegedly left scene of fatal crash

An FBI task force is looking into whether a hit-and-run that left two people dead in 2013 may have been caused by a man who was a deputy recruit at a Tennessee training academy. On July 24, police visited the Shelby County sheriff's training academy and took a 24-year-old man into custody on suspicion of hitting two people and leaving the scene of the fatal crash.
